SWS sponsoring the Coast to Coast bike ride

Somerset Web Services are one of the sponsors for the annual Coast to Coast charity bike ride to be held on 18^th May.

The bike ride starts at Watchet on the Bristol Channel coast and follows a hilly course over the Brendons to Bridport on the English Channel coast.

Over 500 riders take part in a popular event that raises over £50,000 annually for the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance charity.

The charity receives no direct Government or National Lottery funding. Their operational costs are £1.7 million a year which equates to over £2,500 per mission.

In 2013 the Air Ambulance attended 608 incidents, of which 50% were in Somerset.

Nigel Finch, Managing Director of Taunton-based Somerset Web Services, who is taking part in this year’s ride, said “We are delighted to be one of the sponsors. The Air Ambulance is a vital service. As their strapline says, We help save lives, one day it could be yours”.
