The Google Nexus 7 Tablet can be bought from as little as £159, although you might as well spend a little more and get the 16gb version which is £199 delivered from ebuyer.com.

It is a great tablet with an attractive price with the following features:

  • Quad-core Tegra 3 processor
  • 7” 1280×800 HD display (216 ppi)
  • 16 GB internal storage
  • 1 GB RAM
  • 4325 mAh Battery
  • WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
  • Bluetooth
  • Micro USB
  • Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean)
  • NFC (Android Beam)
  • + more

There are a few features that the Nexus 7 doesn’t have which are:

  • HDMI
  • Expandable Memory
  • 3G

As the Nexus 7 lacks 3G you would need to tether it to your mobile phone to get a data connection if you are not within a WIFI signal.

The Nexus 7 does not have a memory card expansion slot so you are stuck with either 8Gb or 16Gb depending which model you bought.

There are a few solutions for the lack of storage space:

  1. Use a otg cable to mount a USB Key
  2. Use a GoFlex Satellite with Wifi/DNLA server and stream media to your Nexus 7
  3. Root your Nexus 7 and you can then install CifsManager
